Who In the World Can Help This Poor Little Town?

The bottom line answer appears to be: No One!

That is one disheartening thing I learned last year. I asked the Attorney General's office for help with the renegade City Solicitor (later reformed he told me...but the damage was "done"), City Auditor, and the 4 Boys on council (Malone, Haas, Albrecht and Basham) but was told, "Ohio is not set up like Kentucky. I can't help you. I wish I could. I advise you to hire your own attorney. That's what some others mayors in Ohio have had to do."

At least, at my request, the Deputy Auditor of State and head Auditor in Athens said the state would take back the city's audits as of 2010. The audits had previously been done by private firms...and what a disaster.

If you are interested, just go to the Findings section. That is what you need to know and in spite of some legal language I think you will find it illuminating. There was one error; the auditors were given the wrong information by Malone's office about the final review of the East End Project - it was inspected by the 30+ year civil engineer I hired that the boys on council, auditor and solicitor successfully ran out of town after a few months...I've corrected this with communication to the auditors.
